Happy feet.

Today on our walk to school the conversation turned to feet - bare feet, sock feet, and shoes.

Juliana took the opportunity to inform me that her Crocs were too small so she needs a new pair. Blue. Or purple. Or orange.

She also needs new high heeled summer shoes. (For what? Does she have something planned that I don't know about?)

On the weekend she needed new indoor shoes for school.

Last month she needed outdoor running shoes.

Before that it was flip flops. (Not because it was hot - there was still snow on the ground - but because she only had the flip from her last pair as the flop was chewed by the dog.....)

Her "need" for shoes makes me laugh. I don't know where she gets it. I still wear the same black shoes that I bought when I returned to work after.....oh, nevermind....

Recently I heard that a co-worker owned 300 pairs of shoes.
300. Pairs. Of. Shoes.
That's almost a different pair of shoes for every day of the year.

How do you remember what you own? Where do you keep them?

I've decided to do my own inventory:

- running shoes (um, for walking..)
- Crocs - one pair for summer and a fuzzy pair for winter slippers
- black sandals
- black slide ons (ancient)
- brown slide ons (slightly newer than the ancient black ones)
- black pumps (worn once)
- sexy black boots (not worn often enough according to Peter)
- Crocs - ballerina flat style - my big purchase for this summer :)
- Birkenstocks with bling buckles (my "good" shoes for summer)
- flip flops

I'm not girly-girl. I love the look of nice shoes on other people, but me? I'll take comfort over style any day.

When she was little, I used to send Juliana to my neighbours to play with her shoes. They were way nicer than mine.

So I guess that Juliana will be the girl with the shoes in our family.

Lots of shoes.

She should start planning her closet now.

Correction... Juliana AND Jillian will be the ones with the shoes in the family! My inventory is more like yours, while Jillian's is quite similar to Juliana's. Her most recently desired shoes are sandals from H&M that are flat with lots of little leather-type straps. Luckily, I was able to talk her out of the ones at H&M and have avoided any shops since!

Oh, and by the way, where are you thinking the shoe closet might fit??

Where are the girls getting this shoe obsession from - it certainly doesn't come from the McDonald side!

You just wait, Leslie. Lucy, too, will have this shoe obsession one day!

Honestly, she might just get it from Peter....
